This repository include data used in "Depth variations in multi-stage hydrogen generation associated with serpentinization in the lower crust and mantle sections of the Oman Ophiolite" by Kazuki Yoshida, Atsushi Okamoto, Ryosuke Oyanagi, Masakazu Fujii, Kenta K. Yoshida, Yasuhiro Niwa, Yasuo Takeichi, and Masao Kimura. "Tables.xlsx" includes the composition of serpentine and brucite in each sample (Table 1); Fe3+/ΣFe ratio of serpentine in each sample measured by 2D XANES imaging (Table 2); a list of samples and applied analytical methods (Table S1); olivine compositions determined by electron microprobe analysis (Table S2); serpentine and brucite compositions determined by electron microprobe analysis (Table S3); semi-quantitative analyses of Ni–Fe alloys and sulfides (Table S4); characteristics of the X-ray absorption near edge structure spectra (Table S5); linear combination fitting results and estimated Fe3+/ΣFe ratios (Table S6); bulk-rock major element compositions (Table S7); bulk-rock magnetic properties (Table S8); and mass losses at 250–450°C and 450–800°C measured by thermogravimetric analysis (Table S9). "Bulk-rock_XANES" folder includes X-ray absorption near edge structure spectra for each sample, standard minerals used in the linear combination fitting, and Fe foil data for energy calibration. All spectra were calibrated based on the first inflection point of absorbance at the K edge of Fe foil at 7112.0 eV. "TG" folder includes thermogravimetric data for each sample. "Mass_balance" folder includes the following files: - Mass_balance.py: Python code for mass-balance calculation - Plot.py: Python code for plotting - Input.csv: input file - Out_mass_balance.csv: output file - Plot.svg: plot figure
