Metagenomic sequencing of tubeworm endosymbiont

Here, we used a cultivation-independent metagenomic approach to retrieve the endosymbiont genome of an undescribed Sclerolinum species inhabiting the Haima Cold Seep in the South China Sea (SCS). Through phylogenetic and functional analysis, we aim to reveal its phylogenetic relationship with other siboglinid symbiont genomes and illustrate its genetic mechanisms of maintaining the host-symbiont partnership and driving their evolution.
