miRNA expression data of spent in-vitro culture media condtioned with 2-cell, 8-cell, and blastocyst staged bovine embryos

Distinct miRNA populations have been detected in the spent media (SM) of in-vitro cultured embryos. However, profiling has only been conducted in SM cultured with blastocyst-stage embryos. Therefore, the aim of the study was to globally profile the extracellular microRNA (miRNA) population throughout the pre-implantation period in bovine embryos using a heterologous miRNA microarray Bovine embryos were in-vitro produced in group culture and spent media was collected at the 2-cell, 8-cell, and blastocyst stage of development. Once sufficient media samples were collected from all the conditions, total RNA was extracted and hybridized onto an Affymetrix Genechip miRNA 4.0 array and data was analyzed using Transcriptome Analysis Console.
