Muc6 is specifically expressed in gastric epithelial tissue and protects the mucous membrane against damage. However, it is unclear how Muc6 contributes to inflammation-tumor transformation in the stomach. Muc6-knockout C57BL/6J mice were generated to investigate whether Muc6 deletion initiated inflammation-tumor transformation. RNA-Seq was performed to analyze the differences in biological processes and molecular functions between Muc6-/- and wild-type mice.
