Amplicon sequencing for bacterial and ciliophoran assemblages in the tidal flat across the Japan archipelago

Microbes on coastal ecosystems, such as bacteria and ciliophorans, are important because they connect organic matter to organisms at the higher trophic level. In this project, we examined spatial variations of these assemblages in the sediments of nine tidal flats across the Japan archipelago. In addition, we examined factors affecting the taxonomic composition of these microbial assemblages. The present data set describes the results of these examinations.
