Raw Data for Learn to Value Effort: An ERP Analysis of Rewards and Cognitive Load After Positive Association
We explored the differences in brain activity related to how individuals perceive effort following a positive association. Given that excessive effort is often avoided, our results indicate that people can learn to appreciate effort after having a positive experience. As a result, they are willing to allocate more cognitive resources to challenging tasks, even in the absence of monetary rewards. This suggests that effort can be viewed as rewarding after a positive association.
