资源简介:

Main MAR and GISM output variables from: Paice, C. M., Fettweis, X., and Huybrechts, P.: Positive feedbacks drive the Greenland ice sheet evolution in millennial-length MAR–GISM simulations under a high-end warming scenario, The Cryosphere, 20, 309–332, https://doi.org/10.5194/tc-20-309-2026, 2026. The coupled MAR-GISM simulations for the period 1991-3000 consist of the: two-way coupled (2wC) simulation, wherein the ice sheet - atmosphere feedbacks are explicitly considered by annually exchanging information between both models. one-way coupled (1wC) simulation, wherein the melt - elevation feedback is implicitly considered by annually correcting the MAR surface mass balance for the changes in the GISM surface elevation using an offline extrapolation (Franco et al., 2012). zero-way coupled (0wC) simulation, wherein no feedbacks between the ice sheet and atmosphere are considered, and the MAR SMB is annually extrapolated to the initial GISM topography. The main MAR output variables required to couple MAR and GISM are annual total Surface Mass Balance (SMB) and Runoff (RU). The main GISM variables consist of the annual ice thickness (H), bedrock surface elevation (HBED) and ice mask (MSK). All variables are provided on the 5 km GISM grid. The SMB and RU thus consist of the offline extrapolated values. The MAR source code used for this dataset is tagged as v3.13.0.2 on https://gitlab.com/Mar-Group/MARv3# (last access: 12 May 2025) (MARTeam, 2025). The GISM source code, as well as additional coupling and output analysis scripts, or additional GISM and MAR output variables, can be provided upon request by e-mail (chloe.marie.paice@vub.be). Data usage notice: When using any of these results, please acknowledge the work of the people involved in producing them. Acknowledgments should be similar to the one below, containing information related to MAR and GISM. "We thank C. Paice and X. Fettweis, as well as the MAR and GISM teams to make the model outputs available. We also thank the VSC (Flemish Supercomputer Center), funded by the Research Foundation - Flanders (FWO) and the Flemish Government that provided computational resources and services for the MAR-GISM simulations.
