Our research focuses on developing advanced Metal-Organic Framework (MOF)-based catalysts for CO₂ valorization into methanol, addressing sustainability challenges and supporting circular economy principles. We employ operando X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (XAS) along with ex situ techniques such as Magic Angle Spinning Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (MAS NMR), Electron Microscopy (EM), and positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy (PALS) to understand catalytic behavior during CO₂ hydrogenation to methanol. Operando XRD will track crystallographic changes, revealing structural integrity and adaptability of the MOF framework. Simultaneously, operando XAS will monitor the evolution of active metal sites during CO₂ conversion, linking structural dynamics to performance.
