Key figures on hurricane impacts in the Dominican Republic 2022

Hurricanes and tropical storms have affected millions of people in the Dominican Republic in the past decade. It was estimated that almost three million people were affected by the 2016 hurricane season alone. Meanwhile, hurricane Sandy (2012) affected some 22 thousand people. More recently, Hurricane Irma (2017) affected more than six thousand people in the Caribbean country.
