Historical Biogeography of the Atacama plant genus Cristaria

Here we apply next generation sequencing methods in order to further our understanding of how abiotic processes have shaped the evolution of Cristaria (Malvaceae), one of the most species-rich genera of the Atacama Desert. We analyze its phylogenetic relationships and historical biogeography by using genotyping-by-sequencing, molecular clock dating, Dispersal Extinction Cladogenesis and Bayesian sampling approaches.
