Reference genome assembly of a female white-bellied pangolin for use as a reference in the development of a genoscape for the species, which itself was used to develop a forensic genotyping panel to track the trafficking of confiscated pangolin scales obtained from poached animals from Africa to Asia. The chromosome-length genome assembly was also used in a comparative genomic and karyotypic analysis with other pangolin genome assemblies.
