Container system for blood sample

This dataset contains the mechanical design CAD file for a blood sample container designed to reduce the blood cell sedimentation and plasma separation. By employing a set of partially separated container sections, effective management of the phenomenon was achieved. It was found that the dimensions of the sections need to be sufficiently large and cannot be significantly reduced from this design model, or surface tension will result in excessive material retention/trapping. Prototypes were manufactured from different plastic materials and a protograph of a component made from polycarbonate sheet with CNC milling is included.
