Enabling Community Well-Being, Self-Monitoring for Yukon First Nations

The Little Salmon Carmacks First Nation (LSCFN) has been engaged to complete research to develop a tool to track changes in the well-being of the First Nation based on community-defined and community-relevant indicators that are consistent with recognized social determinants of health. Consistent with principles of community participatory research, the project is identifying language for, and indicators of, well-being that are meaningful to members of the LSCFN, and consistent with recognized social determinants of health; developing a tool to track changes in indicators of well-being for the LSCFN; and mobilizing lessons from the above activities for other Northern communities.
