A lack of research on gut microbiota in the African continent, particularly concerning Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM), has been observed. This study seeks to fill this significant void by undertaking an extensive comparative examination of gut microbiota composition within a South African population. The investigation encompasses both individuals diagnosed with T2DM and those without diabetes.
