RecMapDB: an open database of eukaryote recombination rates estimated from linkage maps

Genome-wide recombination rates estimated from published linkage maps across eukaryotes. One row per linkage map per study; every record carries its source publication, and recombination rate (cM/Mb) is derived at build time from map length and genome size, never stored by hand. Seeded from the compilation in Stapley et al. (2017, Phil. Trans. R. Soc. B, doi:10.1098/rstb.2016.0455), substantially re-curated and extended, and designed to be extended by the community: see CONTRIBUTING.md in the repository. Data are plain CSV with Frictionless Table Schemas. Data licence CC0-1.0, except trait values sourced from the TRY Plant Trait Database (marked in species_traits.csv), which are CC BY 4.0 and require citation of Kattge et al. (2020, doi:10.1111/gcb.14904). Code licence MIT.
