This project identifies genes in the Central American black belt cichlid (V. maculicauda). Identified genes will be used to compare plasticity in gene expression caused by diet manipulation. We can then compare expression plasticity and molecular evolution to examine how phenotypic plasticity may interact with the pace of phenotypic diversification.
