blaNDM-5 was found in a Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium strain SSH006 isolated from a patient in Shanghai, China. Strain SSH006 belonged to sequence type 34 (ST34) and had other resistance determinants, including blaTEM-1, aadA1, sul1, sul2, sul3, aac(6’)-Iaa, tet(A), floR and dfrA12. blaNDM-5 was carried by a ~46kb self-transmissible IncX3 plasmid, which was nearly identicalshared 99.9% identity to the previously reported IncX3 plasmid pNDM_MGR194 with only 17 SNPs.
