Brassinosteroids regulate the latex of rubber tree

Natural rubber (cis-1, 4-polyisoprene, NR) is a basic industrial raw and strategic material with excellent mechanical and physical properties, China's consumption is huge but mainly depends on imports. The commercial source of natural rubber mainly from a tropical tree-Hevea Brasiliensis, whose biosynthesis is carried out in the specialized laticifer cells with sucrose as raw material. As a new plant hormone, brassinolide(BR) has been widely used in agriculture and forestry due to its advantages of high efficiency, environmental protection and wide spectrum. BR can promote the elongation and division of plant cells, enhance the photosynthetic capacity of leaves, and regulate the development of roots, thereby improving plant growth and development, and increasing the yield. Based on this background, we use BR as stimulant in rubber tree and improved the yield and quality of latex which was benifit to rubber industry.
