Largest Chinese MNEs 2023, based on foreign assets

In 2023, the largest Chinese multinational enterprise (MNE), based on the total value of their foreign assets, was China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) with 152.9 billion U.S. dollars of foreign assets. That year, there were two Chinese companies among the global leading 25 MNEs. When indicators such as foreign sales or number of foreign employees are included in the ranking, there are less Chinese companies among the leading MNEs.
