Dataset from Twitter concerning "Participatory Budgeting" for DEMOTEC project

The dataset was produced by the DEMOTEC Horizon project funded by the EU (H2020 GA no.962553). The main purpose of the project was the study of Participatory Budgeting (PB) and other democratic innovations at the local level of governance.The dataset consists of tweets in 9 languages (Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish) published between 2015 and 2021. Any tweet containing any of the keywords appearing below (“Participatory Budgeting” in different languages) was collected and stored. The dataset contains a total of 24 variables, including the main body of the tweet, number of “retweets” and “likes” etc., as well as information on the user, including user-provided name, description, number of tweets overall etc. More methodological details are provided in the attached codebook.
