Published by Wusul (WUSUL LTD, company 17549795) at https://wusul.io/islamic-charity-index/ Data date: 29 October 2026. islamic-charity-index-uk.csv: 3,919 registered charities in England and Wales (income in GBP, Charity Commission register). islamic-charity-index-us.csv: 5,203 501(c)(3) organisations in the United States (revenue in USD, IRS Exempt Organizations Business Master File, Form 990 filings via ProPublica Nonprofit Explorer). Method. UK: registered main charities in the Charity Commission register for England and Wales, included when their name or working name, activities or charitable objects refer to Islam, Muslims, mosques, Zakat or related terms, then reviewed by hand. US: 501(c)(3) organisations in the IRS Business Master File whose name refers to Islam or Muslims, or that the IRS classes under Islam (NTEE X40), plus relief, human-services and grant-making organisations matched by name, then reviewed by hand. Charities matched only in passing were removed; the list of removals is on the index page. The index measures size, not quality: it does not rate effectiveness, overheads or Zakat eligibility. Income is the latest figure each charity reported to its regulator, so financial years differ between charities.
