Plume Surfacing Experiments

This repository contains experimental data associated with the study “On the response of a free surface perturbed by a positively buoyant vertical jet.” The data consist of time-resolved infrared thermal images of the free surface acquired during experiments with a vertically oriented positively buoyant jet. The thermal images are provided in TIFF format and are organized according to experimental condition: (e.g., Exp_36_depth_0.215_temp_diff_51_vel_0.05 reflects the Experimental run number, followed by the source-surface separation in meter, followed by the temperature difference between hot and cold water in degree Celsius, followed by the bulk flow velocity at the source in m/s.) This repository is being populated incrementally. The present release contains a subset of the experimental datasets associated with the study. Additional experimental datasets will be added in subsequent releases.
