Understanding Politics and Rural Poverty: Perspectives of Youths in Yonibana, Northern Sierra Leone.

This study delves into the nuanced relationship between politics and rural poverty through the lens of youth perspectives in Yonibana, Northern, Sierra Leone. Drawing on mixed research methods including perception survey, interviews and focus groups, the research seeks to understand how young people perceive the intersection of political dynamics and poverty in their rural community. By exploring the lived experiences, aspirations, and challenges faced by youths, the study aims to uncover the multifaceted ways in which political structures and decisions impact poverty levels, access to resources, and opportunities for socio-economic mobility in the rural context. Through a comprehensive analysis of the voices and narratives of 422 youth participants, the research contributes to a deeper understanding of the intricate linkages between governance, poverty, and youth agency in shaping the socio-political landscape of rural Sierra Leone.
