The project deals with exploring nicotine degradation potential of strain Paenarthrobacter ureafaciens, elucidating the nicotine degradation pathway and it's application in tobacco waste water treatment.It also includes the metabolite identification and their application. Nicotine being toxic natural alkaloid poses threat to the living beings with respect to health. To reduce the direct exposure to nicotine bacterial nicotine degradation plays a vital role.Here we aim to explore the nicotine degradation potential of strain Paenarthrobacter ureafaciens, elucidating the nicotine degradation pathway with deeper genomic insights and its application in tobacco waste water treatment.
