资源简介:

This article explores the role of writing assignments in developing students’ language proficiency, critical thinking, academic literacy, and motivation, with particular attention to interactive methods of teaching writing in EFL contexts. The paper first analyzes how diverse forms of writing tasks—such as essays, reflective journals, and annotated bibliographies—promote higher-order thinking, metacognitive awareness, and deeper engagement with course content. It is argued that such assignments not only function as tools of assessment but also serve as powerful means of fostering communication skills, self-reflection, and personal growth in learners. The focus then shifts to interactive approaches, including collaborative writing and peer review, which create a supportive, communicative classroom environment where students co-construct texts, exchange feedback, and negotiate meaning. Drawing on recent studies in EFL/ESL writing pedagogy, the article highlights that collaborative writing significantly enhances learners’ writing performance, motivation, grammatical accuracy, and vocabulary, while also developing social skills such as cooperation and responsibility. The discussion suggests that integrating interactive writing methods into the curriculum can transform writing assignments from isolated, product-oriented tasks into dynamic, process-oriented learning experiences that better prepare learners for academic and professional communication.
