资源简介:
Identifying the presence and strength of reproductive isolating barriers is necessary to understand how species form and then remain distinct in the face of ongoing gene flow. Here we study reproductive isolation at two stages of the speciation process in the closely related mushroom-feeding species Drosophila recens and D. subquinaria. We assess three isolating barriers that occur after mating, including the number of eggs laid, the proportion of eggs laid that hatched, and the number of adult offspring from a single mating. First, all three reproductive barriers are present between D. recensfemales and D. subquinaria males, which are at the late stages of speciation but still produce fertile daughters through which gene flow can occur. There is no evidence for geographic variation in any of these traits, concurrent with patterns of behavioral isolation. Second, all three of these reproductive barriers are strong between geographically distant conspecific populations of D. subquinaria,..., The data are the raw behavioral data and counts of eggs, their hatch rate, and number of adult offspring produced.  , , # Data from: Postmating prezygotic isolation occurs at two levels of divergence in Drosophila recens and D. subquinaria [https://doi.org/10.5061/dryad.5hqbzkhfx](https://doi.org/10.5061/dryad.5hqbzkhfx) Authors: Duitsman, Bomar, Powell, Dyer. Journal of Evolutionary Biology ## Description of the data and file structure Data include 1) behavioral assays of mating rate, copulation latency, and copulation duration; 2) number of eggs laid in 6 days, 3) proportion of eggs laid that hatched, 3) number of adult offspring produced after 20 days of egg laying.  Data are included for crosses to test for 1) reproductive isolation between Drosophila recens females and D. subquinaria males and 2) between geographically distinct D. subquinaria populations.  ### Files and variables: **JEB-2023-00304_matings.csv** Experiment = Recens x Subquinaria or within subquinaria Female = female species and population Male = male species and population Cross_FxM = Crosses are listed female x male N_...
