类型参比是根据某一类型代表性剖面的土壤形态特征、理化性质及矿物学特征,鉴别出其所具有的诊断层、诊断特性,并通过检索系统,对不同分类系统的类型进行参比,例如,发生分类系统中的红壤亚类就其代表性剖面的土壤形态特征、理化性质及矿物学特征,鉴别出它具有低活性富铁层、黏化层、及湿润土壤水分状况等诊断层和诊断特性,通过检索,确定它属于系统分类中黏化湿润富铁土。因此,类型参比仅就代表性剖面对两个分类系统的土壤类型进行参比,类型参比适合于把土壤发生分类的类型名称转化为系统分类的类型名称时参考使用。
Soil Type Correlation refers to identifying the diagnostic horizons and diagnostic properties of a representative soil profile of a given soil type based on its morphological, physicochemical and mineralogical characteristics, and correlating soil types across different classification systems via retrieval systems. For example, for the Red Soil Subgroup in the Soil Genetic Classification system, based on the morphological, physicochemical and mineralogical characteristics of its representative profile, it can be identified that it has diagnostic horizons and properties such as the Low-activity Ferric Horizon, Argic Horizon, and Udic Soil Moisture Regime. Through system retrieval, it is confirmed that this soil type belongs to Argic Udic Ferrosols in the Soil Taxonomy system. Therefore, Soil Type Correlation only correlates soil types from two classification systems based on their representative profiles, and it is suitable for reference when converting soil type names from the Soil Genetic Classification system to those from the Soil Taxonomy system.
