Replication Data for Have billionaires become more tax-friendly since the financial crisis?

This article introduces the billionaire tax speech dataset, which provides comprehensive data on the tax speech acts of the hundred richest billionaires living in democracies over the past three decades, drawn from business journalism, investigative journalism and other open sources. We gathered data on public statements or comments these billionaires made about the forms of personal taxation (‘wealth-based taxes’, for short) that most directly affect billionaires: top rate income tax, wealth tax, dividend and interest tax, capital gains tax, inheritance, estate and gift tax, and property tax.
