In order to study the effects of butyrate and pentanoate on the proliferation of muscle cells, we established C2C12 cell lines and intervened C2C12 cells with butyrate and pentanoate respectively. We then performed gene expression profiling analysis using data obtained from RNA-seq of thses three groups. Overall design: Comparative gene expression profiling analysis of RNA-seq data for C2C12 cells, butyrate-treated C2C12 cells and pentanoate-treated C2C12 cells
