In-depth characterization of microbiome and resistome of carcasses and processing environments in a swine slaughterhouse

Whole metagenome shotgun sequencing was performed on environmental samples collected from a swine slaughterhouse, including four pig carcasses at the end of the processing line. The study aimed to investigate the composition of microbial communities and the presence of associated antimicrobial resistance genes (ARGs).
