VPRS 11513 Position Files

This series comprises Position Files created for established positions within the Victorian public service by the Public Service Board, VA 866.Following the proclamation of the Public Service Amendment Act 1984, (No.10046) the personnel function was devolved to individual Departments. The Position Files ceased to be created by the Public Service Board centrally.The files contain documents including advertisement for the position, position descriptions, applications for the position, curriculum vitae of applicants and correspondence.The series comprised files created for all positions within Divisions 1,2,3, and 4 of the public service.The P1 consignment contains the permanent portion of the series, i.e. position files created for positions within Division 1 of the public service. The Position files of the remaining Divisions were culled for destruction in accordance with the provisions of the General Disposal Schedule for Common Administrative Records PROV 96/13 Version 2000. The files in P1 consignment were culled from VPRS 8062 SR1.The P2 consignment of this series contains position files within the Ministry of Transport. This consignment was transferred by the Public Transport Corporation (PTC). The agency responsible for this consignment is the Department of Infrastructure (As at 20 September 2006).
