NRS-13866 | Trigonometric survey of Port Jackson [Surveyor General]

This survey was commenced as a Military Survey by order of General Darling and continued by Lt. Col. Sir T.L. Mitchell, Surveyor General of New South Wales. This map shows coastal and inland details of Port Jackson, giving depth of water in fathoms, and distance in theodolite readings. There are two comparative views given, one of a General View of Port Jackson taken with a Theodolite from Station A in the year 1829; and the other a View of the Entrance to Port Jackson taken with a Theodolite from Station B in the year 1853. This map is in four parts. The scale is 20 feet = approximately 1 inch.(SR Map Nos.6326-29; aperture card copies in Western Sydney reading room). 4 sheets.
