Flow and deformation in Earth’s D” layer

This study uses simulations to explore D” flow, rock deformation, and seismic anisotropy. Results show strong deformation in D”, consistent with observed seismic anisotropy. Deformation strength increases with depth, particularly beneath the Central Pacific and Africa.
