资源简介:
Storm surge data for the North Atlantic basin generated by applying the DeepSurge (version 1) storm surge model to 900,000 synthetic tropical cyclones created with the Risk Analysis Framework for Tropical Cyclones (RAFT) forced by CMIP6 data for the historical (1980-2015) and future (2066-2100) climate under SSP5-8.5. An upcoming paper will describe and analyze this dataset further. Each of the 18 files describes maximum storm surge levels for 50,000 storm seeds (though a portion of seeds, ~20%, don't develop enough to reach land and induce surge). Maximum surge is recorded at each of 4199 coastal nodes spanning the North Atlantic basin. For more information on RAFT, see Rice et al. (2025) and Lipari et al. (2024) which describe and use the same set of RAFT-CMIP6 tracks used in this dataset. See Xu et al. (2021) and Xu et al. (2024) for specifics on the RAFT methodology. There are known anomalies in the Chesapeake Bay, due to issues with the underying training data (ADCIRC simulations) for this first version of DeepSurge. Addressing these issues with a new set of higher fidelity ADCIRC simulations is an area of ongoing work.
