The objective of this study was to characterize genetic variation in exome of vervet monkeys (Chlorocebus aethiops pygerythrus). Vervet monkey is a natural host of simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) that is well adapted to a life with this pathogen. This resource was established from blood samples from 24 wild vervets. It will help to identify genetic factors involved in protection against SIV/AIDS in this species.
