VPRS 19098 Executive Committee (Friday/Senior Management Meetings) - Minutes and Papers

This series comprises the minutes and papers of the Executive Committee of the Royal Melbourne Hospital (VA 1048). The Executive Committee was delegated by the Board of Management in 1972 with the authority to deal with and act upon all matters of policy for the efficient management of the hospital. At this time, it assumed the functions of the former House and Finance Committees. The Executive Committee meetings were also called the Friday Management Meetings because they originally took place on a Friday. Subsequently, the meetings were referred to as the Senior Management Meetings as the committee comprised senior members of the hospital executive and management, and dealt with high level policy as well as operational issues. Prior to transfer to Public Record Office Victoria, the records in this series were maintained as part of the Royal Melbourne Hospital Archives.
