UCYN-A enrichment cultures from the Northwest Atlantic

Seawater was collected from the Bedford Basin and the offshore Scotian Shelf (Nova Scotia, Canada) the enriched with nutrients to select for diazotrophs. These cultures contain UCYN-A and sequencing has been used to detect community composition and co-occuring microbes with UCYN-A as well as create MAGs of UCYN-A and its host Braarudosphaera bigelowii. The study aims to characterize UCYN-A and its co-occurring microbes in this region and investigate the pangenome.
