Data Archive for Laboratory Investigations of Electric Field Instabilities (LIEFSI)

This data archive contants all laboratory data collected at Naval Research Laboratory's Space Plasma Simulation Chamber from between November 2023 and October 2025 in support of the Laboratory Investigations of Electric Field Instabilities (LIEFSI) NASA Grant No. 80NSSC21K0801. The achieved folder contains three subfolders: Campaign #1: Data Taken between November 17th, 2023 and December 18th, 2023. Campaign #2: Data Taken between Feburary 1st, 2025 and May 15th, 2025. Campaign #3: Data Taken between October 28th, 2025 and October 31st, 2025. Each subfolder within contains folders for each plamsa parameter in the parameter sweep which each contain two files. 1) A readme text file that describes details of the calibration, supporting hardward and most importantly the plasma parameters of these measurements: the plamsa density, the electrion tempurature and the magnetic field strength 2) The mutual impedance measurements as S parameters in an .h5 file taken in these plasma conditions. Each file contains three S parameters: The self impedance of the sphere (S11), the mutual impedance between sphere and stub (S12) and the self impednace of the stub (S22).
