资源简介:
Dicathais orbita, a mollusc of the Muricidae family, is well known for the production of an expensive dye, Tyrian purple and its brominated precursors having anticancer properties. Illumina HiSeq 2000 platform was used for transcriptome sequencing of hypobranchial gland, prostate gland, albumen gland, capsule gland, mantle and foot tissues of D. orbita. Over 201 million high quality reads were de novo assembled into 219,437 contigs. Totally, 76,152 contigs that contained candidate-coding regions were annotated with Nr, Swiss-Prot and KEGG databases. The transcriptome data and database described in this article provide a significant molecular resource in D. orbita research.
