This project investigates caste differences in ovarian gene expression in the red harvester ant Pogonomyrmex barbatus. Using RNA-Seq, we analyzed ovarian transcriptomes from queens, queenright workers, and queenless workers to understand how reproductive division of labor is regulated at the molecular level.
