Natural variation of Sporothrix brasiliensis in different epidemic areas of the Brazilian territory

Sporothrix scheckii and Sporothrix brasiliensis are human and animal fungal pathogens endemic in Brazil. S. brasiliensis has gained the attention of public health authorities due to its cat-to-human transition and cat-to-cat transmissions profile and high virulence. This project aims to compare the genomes of different human and animal S. brasiliensis from different areas of the epidemy in Brazil via genome sequencing and evolutionary analysis.
