Qlobata.v0.5.100Mcat.fasta

Quercus lobata draft assembly version 0.5, concatenated into 8 approximately 100Mb psuedo-contigs, Original contig positions are listed in associated file Qlobata.v0.5.100Mcat.bed. This assembly has been aggressively haplotype reduced, resulting in very few genome regions represented more than once, but also approximately 100 Mb missing entirely. Due to high heterozygosity, typical assembly methods fail to collapse haplotypes for as much as half of the genome. We found this version of the genome to be particularly useful for variant calling prior to completion of our final chromosome level genome assembly (v3.0 now available at valleyoak.ucla.edu).
