FlexiGen is an open-source stochastic dataset generation tool developed by INESC TEC and the School of Engineering of Porto Polytechnic, specifically designed for generating synthetic datasets of electric vehicle (EV) charging energy flexibility. This dataset covers EV usage patterns, behaviors and flexibility scenarios for residential and office settings, including hourly EV connection status, destination charger, expected departure time, state of charge (SOC) required at departure, estimated arrival time, and SOC at arrival, among other details. The construction of this dataset incorporates configurable probabilistic variables such as user daily routines, traffic conditions, charger types and average vehicle power consumption. The primary application domains of FlexiGen center on the optimization of V2G and V1G demand response strategies, aiming to address grid stability issues such as unmanaged peak loads and energy balancing problems.
