Exogenous AMPs in food may has little effects on the gut microbiome of customers as they can be easily digested by the proteolytic enzymes in the digestive system However it should be noticed that exogenous AMPs as preservative or additives would intake with the food though oral cavity of human or animals in daily diet but their potential effects on the oral microbiome are little known In this study we investigated the effects of nisin and cecropin on the oral microbial community of rats by 16S rRNA based high through put sequencing We hope our results could provide clues about the influences of exogenous AMPs in food on the oral microbiome which presents one of the most complex microecological system in humans and animals
