The rice chromosome GenBank accessions submitted by the Rice Annotation Program are processed within NCBI to generate the RefSeq accessions. The processing includes assignment of RefSeq accessions to the annotated mRNA and CDS, and assignment of Entrez Gene ids to annotated genes. This processing also enables tracking of annotation elements through future updates. The vocabulary of gene names is explicitly described in Rice, 1:72-84 (2008).
