Democracy index: Civil liberties score

The Civil Liberties indicator measures the extent to which citizens enjoy fundamental rights and freedoms, including freedom of expression, freedom of belief, freedom of assembly, freedom from discrimination, and the right to due legal process. It also assesses the independence of the judiciary and the ability of individuals to live free from harassment by state or non-state actors.
