The Northern Rubber Boa, recognized as either a distinct species or subspecies from its southern sister taxon, the Southern Rubber Boa, Charina bottae) umbratica, is a unique dwarf member of the family Boidae. Although the Northern Rubber Boa is widespread and can be common, the southern form is declining throughout its limited range. It is one of the relatively few temperate members of the family, and the only boa over the vast majority of its range. These data have been produced as part of the CCGP. Sequencing was conducted with HiFi Pacific Biosciences long reads at UCDavis Genome Core, Dovetail's OmniC libraries, and Illumina sequencing at UCBerkeley QB3 Genomics Core.
