This dataset includes 50 yellow sticky cards collected on Calvert Island and across the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Canada in the summers of 2022 and 2023 for various projects by the Plant-Insect Ecology and Evolution (PIEE) Lab at the University of British Columbia. These projects monitored berry insect pests, namely spotted wing drosophila and associated natural enemies. Half of the cards were photographed using Sticky Pi, an open-source smart trap, while the other half were scanned with an Epson Perfection V600 Scanner by PIEE Lab students and technicians. Each insect is annotated as a polygon.Annotations are contained, as polygons in COCO format, in `instances_default.json`.Images were annotated by hand or semi-automatically (e.g., using Segment Anything).
