The invention relates to a machine (1) for coating the staves (10) of a barrel (8)， which comprises at least one jaw (12， 13) comprising: two arms (18， 19) extending towards the bottom， two jaws (14， 15) respectively arranged at the lower ends of the two arms and arranged opposite， said jaws having an arcuate shape， and an actuation system (21) configured to separate the two jaws or the tighten. The actuation in the separated position makes it possible to introduce at least two staves from the vertically disposed barrel between said jaws and the actuation in the closed position allows said two staves to be pinched so as to cover them.
