Caribou serology and stress data from migratory herds, 2004-2015

This data-set was developed with the intention of establishing baselines of caribou (Rangifer tarandus) health so that we can strengthen our ability to track changes in Rangifer health over-time in regions undergoing significant development in order to ensure the sustainability and health of Human-Rangifer systems in years to come. The data was gathered to help us do this in two ways; first, by determining the seroprevalence of infectious diseases and identify association of seropositivity (pathogen exposure) with demographic and health parameters in migratory caribou, and second, by evaluating the use of glucocorticoid indices in hair and feces as biomarkers for caribou health.
